Hardcover 4tos., in full calf, with gilt decoration and red leather title labels. Engraved frontis of the author (after the Reynolds painting) in the first volume, and engraved frontis in the other 3 volumes as well. Also includes plates and fold-outs, including the Hebrew chants and numerous other musical examples throughout. A Good set with light library marks. All 8 boards are detached, but present. Library barcode affixed to the rear board of all volumes. Armorial bookplate from the Talygarn estate on the front pastedown, and library stickers on pastedowns; ink stamp on rear blank. Loss to spine ends. Blindstamp on title pages. First 6 leaves of the first volume are loose, but present. Despite these flaws, the contents have remained clean and unmarked. A few plates with short, closed snags; Hebrew Chant fold-out with a 4-inch long snag. Contents quite bright. Complete set in 4 volumes, all first editions. Digital images available upon request.
