McClellan's bookplate (head impaled on dagger, with 'Sapit Qui Reputat' (He is wise who thinks twice)). McClellan was often referred to as the Napoleon of American generals in the press and was dubbed 'Young Napoleon' because of his favoring the grand battle style of military strategy. Very Good, with only light wear to the extremities. Volume 1 with 2 color plates, 2 engraved portraits and fold-out plan. Volume 2 with color frontis and fold-out map.
