Seventh edition, 1851. Red leather 12mo, 296pp. With engraved frontispiece and numberous illustrations throughout the text. In original wrapping covers with leather strap. In good condition with light general rubbing to the covers. Bottom 1" of the foredge section of wrap ha been repaired but remains fragile. The contents remain in very good condition, bright and clean. Many pages at the rear were left blank to allow for notes, three of these pages have been filled by a previous owner in original period script. Early edition of this well-loved manaual, which enjoyed over 75 subsequent editions.
