A Near Fine copy in the rare, original acetate dust jacket. The rear cover of the book and of the jacket show staining from red ink or paint. Else, a clean, unmarked copy showing only slight edgewear. The jacket shows some shallow chipping along edges, resulting in maybe %10 loss. Book and jacket now protected in a mylar sleeve. 1851 edition. 70 pp. + fold-out map in rear. Hardcover, 12mo. (3.25 x 5.5"), embossed red leather with gilt title and design, all edges gilt, blue marbled endpaper at rear of text only. Covers show light wear to tips only; unmarked contents. The map measures 25" wide x 20" tall, is securely attached to the rear pastedown of the book and is in excellent condition: there is only one tiny puncture and one 2" closed tear on the right edge that affects the title of the map only; otherwise, it is clean, with vibrant colors showing the sate borders.
