Seven Years in Tibet
Harrer, Heinrich
1993. One of 300 signed by Harrer. Blind stamped design on full silk binding, wrapped in a cotton sleeve known as a "pi-chu" and two teakwood boards ("lepshing") with a Tibetan good luck charm carved into the upper board. With both original cotton and painted metal straps, includes original prospectus in envelope. Illustrated with 6 photogravures by Harrer. A map of Harrer's journey is laid-in. Fine copy!

1986. 362/1000 signed by Mapplethorpe and Schmidt. . Quarto. Full plum-red oasis morocco by the Jovonis Bindery. A fine, unfaded copy in suede-lined slipcase, with prospectus laid in. With eight dust-grain photogravures after photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe, printed by Jon Goodman on handmade etching paper. The translation is a revised version of Paul Schmidt's translation, printed parallel with the original French text, printed at Wild Carrot Letterpress on mouldmade paper.

1992. One of 300 copies signed by Clemente. Illustrated with 7 colour woodcuts by Clemente. 4to., bound in light blue linen with matching slipcase. Designed by David Carr and printed by Arthur Larson at the Horton Tank Graphics on handmade Japanese Ogawashi paper. Fine in a near fine slipcase that has an even band of discoloration to lower edge of one of its panels.

contributor of the introductory poem (ROBERT PENN WARREN), and the
illustrator (JACOB LAWRENCE). Large quarto, unpaginated, beautifully
illustrated with 8 original silk screens that were executed in 11
colors, each full page and with a tissue guard laid in. Bound in full
black aniline leather, with blind embossed title on the front cover,
black endpapers, black page edges, housed in a black linen slip case.The 12-page introductory poem by Robert Penn Warren
("New Dawn: Hiroshima") was written especially for this book, and the
illustrations by Jacob Lawrence were commissioned expressly for this
edition.
