Ad for "A Shropshire Lad" on the front flap. The 2 piece slipcase (clamshell cover and box) is done in blue cloth with a leather and gilt title label on the spine. Slipcase in Fine condition. Friedrich Wilhelm Wagner (1892-1931) was a German writer and poet linked to the German Expressionists, a largely forgotten writer rediscovered in the 1980s who has sunk into obscurity once again. He became addicted to morphine after the war and was briefly in a lunatic asylum; these poems are the result of those travails. RARE.
