This copy includes a lovely Illustrated note written to King, with a large pallete drawn in pen and ink. "L. K.- Thank You. Your palette is wonderful, & I know your master hand can meld the seed + [?] brushes, but it looks like calculus to me! -F. E." King has affixed this note to the front pastedown. The book is laid out in grids of color, with the names of blossoms for each listed alphabetically in their respective boxes. A near fine copy with minimal shelfwear, in very good dustjacket with mild soil and rubbing to corners, including a 1" split at the lower front flap. A scarce volume, of excellent provenance.
