1666, second edition, 400 pp. French text. Engraved title page and vignettes at start of each of the 15 sections. Hardcover, 4to., full calf, 5 raised bands, boards have gilt design along edges and on spine. Fancy, cloth pastedowns which wrap over one corner on each board. Very Good copy, housed in a mylar sleeve. Leather rubbed, with only light discoloration; light wear to tips. Front outer hinge just separated at the top half, though there are signs of glue repair there. Contents show minor foxing; text unmarked and quite readable. Previous owner's signature on fly leaf; bookplate featuring Hindu swastika on front pastedown. Includes full index and a small section on the religions of America. Scarce.
